HYDERABAD, MARCH 29. The Telugu Desam Party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Tuesday said his party would continue its struggle to expose the "anti-people, corrupt and undemocratic rule" of the Congress.

Speaking at the foundation day celebrations of the TDP at the party headquarters here today, Mr. Naidu vowed to confront the Government. He said that the party cadre should gear up for a full-fledged fight against the Government.

The TDP chief alleged that the Government had failed to come to the rescue of the poor and distressed farmers after being in power for 10 months. All promises made by the Congress before the elections had not been fulfilled.

He dared the Government to hold the municipal elections. The fear of total rout in the civic polls had made it panicky, Mr. Naidu said, asking partymen to gear up to face the polls whenever they were conducted.

NTR remembered

He recalled the contribution made by the founder of the TDP, N. T. Rama Rao. He said the late leader had strived hard to protect the self-respect of the Telugus, which Congress leaders had mortgaged before Delhi leaders. He said the TDP was one regional party which made its presence felt in the national politics.

The TDP Polit Bureau member, T. Devender Goud, accused Congress leaders of working as slaves. Another Polit Bureau member, Y. Ramakrishnudu, said the State made rapid strides under TDP rule. The TDLP deputy leader, N. Janardhan Reddy, said whenever Congress came to power, the Telugus felt humiliated. The former Minister, Ashok Gajapati Raju, said NTR should be credited with giving the Congress sleepless nights.

The TDPP deputy leader, M. Jaganatham, the party general secretaries -- Kala Venkat Rao, Shoba Nagireddy, the official spokesperson, N. Rajakumari, the Hyderabad Mayor, T. Krishna Reddy, TDP city president, Sayanna and the Ranga Reddy district president, P. Mahender Reddy, spoke.
