By Our Staff Reporter

WARANGAL, MARCH 29. The V Additional Sessions Judge of Fast Track Court, M. Venkata Ramana, has awarded life imprisonment to two persons convicted of murdering an autorickshaw driver.

N. Mallesh and his associate, A. Chakrapani, hired the autorickshaw on the night of February 4, 2002, and proceeded towards Khammam route.

After reaching outskirts of Warangal, they forced the driver to stop the vehicle and strangulated him to death. They took away the vehicle and tried to dispose it of in Khammam district.

The judge found the duo guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment for murder and seven years of imprisonment for robbery.

Woman found killed

Our Nizamabad Reporter writes: An unidentified woman, aged between 25 and 30 years, was found murdered at Nizam Colony, on the outskirts of the town, early on Tuesday.

The police, led by the Circle Inspector, S. Rajasekhar Rao, swung into action to nab the culprits as soon as locals informed them that a woman's body was lying in bushes near the colony.

Mr. Rajasekhar said the victim might have been smothered to death. It is also suspected that she might have been raped before being killed.

A couple of months ago, two women, almost of the same age group, were found murdered in a similar manner in the rural circle.
