MCD to carry out another survey for ODI after 10 days
By Sujay Mehdudia
NEW DELHI,
MARCH 29.
The uncertainty over Delhi hosting the One-Day International (ODI) cricket match between India and Pakistan continues as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) yesterday expressed "dissatisfaction over the progress of work" and decided to inspect the venue again after 10 days. It has decided not to issue a "No Objection Certificate" or a temporary completion certificate till another inspection is carried out.
"The players' building that houses the changing room, sitting room, dressing room and other utilities is fine, but the situation with respect to the seating of spectators and arrangements relating to them is very tricky," a senior MCD official said after today's inspection of the Ferozeshah Kotla Grounds along with the Delhi Chief Minister, Shiela Dikshit. The capital is scheduled to hold the match on April 17. The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has also been asked to file anapplication for the grant of the NOC only after the next inspection.
