COIMBATORE, MARCH 29 . The Department of Labour registered cases against 35 shops today for not adhering to the provisions of the Weights and Measurements (Packaged Commodities Rule). Following complaints on imported goods not bearing the name of the importer, address and maximum retail price on the package, checks were ordered in shops dealing with imported commodities. Special teams led by the Inspector of Labour, C. Thangavel, raided 83 shops in and around Coimbatore district. Complaints could be informed at the Labour Department Office on Dr. Balasundaram Road near the RTO office.
