HYDERABAD, MARCH 29. Four persons who were allegedly sending job aspirants to South Africa without valid licenses, were arrested by the Hyderabad police on Tuesday. Twenty four passports of jobless youths were seized from the illegal possession of the accused identified as -- R. Srinivas, K. Ramesh, Gowtham and Sourab Abedi. The Hyderabad Police Commissioner, V. Dinesh Reddy, told a press conference that the accused were managing to secure visiting visas to South Africa with the help of a Delhi-based agent, Rajendra Kumar. Another person, Srikanth, who was residing in South Africa, was helping the clients in changing the visiting visas to work permits by collecting huge money, he explained. Initially, Goutham and Sourab would collect money ranging from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 from each person and arrange them visiting visas.
Telephone call racket
The crackdown on international telephone call rackets continued with the Hyderabad police busting one more at Tarnaka and arresting two youngsters on Tuesday. The arrested -V. Ashok, (33), of Ramanthpur, and K. Kiran Kumar, (35), of Yousufguda, confessed to the police that they were operating the racket with the assistance of two Non-Resident Indians, Srikanth of California and Sridhar of Atlanta. In another case, the Task Force officials rounded up three persons -- Sajid, Adil and Ayyub Khan -- on charge of selling fake degree certificates of various universities. Their accomplice, Saleem, was still at large.
