India loses

KUALA LUMPUR, MARCH 30. Defending champion India went down to Pakistan 2-3 in the six-nation junior hockey tournament here on Wednesday.

The Indians, who were reduced to nine men in the dying moments of the second-half, led 2-1 at the break. But the team could not continue its domination after skipper Prabodh Tirkey and goalkeeper Adrian D'Souza were shown the yellow card. D'souza was given the marching orders when he clashed with a Pakistan player inside the box.

Though India dominated for major part of the game, Pakistan utilised the chances that came its way in the last 18 minutes and scored twice through penalty corners. — PTI
