IA offer for Chennai-Port Blair sector

NEW DELHI,
MARCH 30.
In order to give a fillip to tourism in the Andaman and Nicobar islands in the post-tsunami period, Indian Airlines is offering three levels of apex fares on both the Chennai-Port Blair-Chennai and Kolkata-Port Blair-Kolkata sectors for travel from April 10 onwards.
While Chennai-Port Blair advance purchase ticket fare would be Rs. 6,500, Rs. 5275 and Rs. 4,355 for a week, three-weeks and four-week periods respectively, on the Kolkata-Port Blair sector the apex fare levels will be Rs. 7100, Rs. 5705 and Rs. 4710 for a week, three weeks and four weeks advance purchase of tickets.
According to an IA release, the fare levels include taxes for the two sectors and it would draw more tourists to the archipelago in view of the coming summer holiday season.
