O.V. Vijayan passes away

HYDERABAD,
MARCH 30.
The Malayalam writer and political cartoonist, O.V. Vijayan, died here today. He was 74. Vijayan made an impact on an entire generation with his epic novel Khasakinte Ithihasam (The Legend of Khasak). The body was flown to Kochi and then taken to Palakkad. The Kerala Government has arranged for his cremation with state honours on the banks of the Bharathapuzha in Palakkad on Thursday afternoon.
