Top woman naxalite surrenders to police

KAKINADA, MARCH 30. A top woman naxalite, Naragoni Manjula (31) alias Rama alias Swarnakka, surrendered before the East Godavari Police Superintendent, V.Naveen Chand, here on Wednesday night. She is the wife of another top naxalite Komala Seshagirirao alias Gopanna who is now lodged in Central Jail, Rajahmundry, under judicial custody.

She has been wanted by the police in several offences like attack on Yelesweram police station in East Godavari and also on a police camp in Dharakonda in Visakhapatnam district besides the attack on a police outpost in Budepeda in Orissa.

Another one surrenders

According to a Visakhapatnam report,another woman squad commander of the CPI(Maoist), Vantala Gaddamma alias Jyothi alias Kranthi(21), surrendered before the Superintendent of Police(Rural), Sanjay Kumar Jain. She said ill-health was the reason for the surrender. She had joined the movement in 1997.
