GHAZIABAD, MARCH 30. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today laid the foundation stone of the proposed Haj House in five acres of land near the Hindon river here. He also directed the concerned officials to complete its construction by October 1, this year. Addressing a gathering here after laying the foundation stone, Mr. Yadav said the Haj House would consist of a bus stand of a capacity of 40 buses, currency exchange facility and ATM system. He said the building would have eight guest rooms, residential blocks for 332 people, kitchen pantry and three dormitories having a capacity of accommodating 100 people each. He also announced a grant of Rs 2 crore for the construction of Haj House and said it would be inaugurated on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary on October 1. Mr. Yadav also distributed cheques to 1,500 girls under the `Kanya Vidya Dhan' scheme of Gautambuddhanagar, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr for higher education. --UNI
