KOZHIKODE, MARCH 30. The Department of Biotechnology, Union Ministry of Science and Technology, has awarded a research project to K.V. Lazar and U.V.K. Mohamed of the Department of Zoology, Calicut University, and I.S. Bright Singh of the Cochin University of Science and Technology. The Rs. 22.90-lakh project is on the genetic engineering of stem cells and cloning of the giant fresh water prawn. The duration of the project is three years.
