Funds for

taluk hospital

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 30. An amount of Rs. 25 lakhs has been allotted to Chirayinkeezh taluk hospital from Varkala Radhakrishnan's MP Fund for the construction of a new building. Apart from this, Rs. 10 lakhs has been allotted for constructing Mangalathunada-Sasthanada bridge in Chirayinkeezh Loksabha constituency and Rs. 4 lakhs to Aryanad Government HS for constructing the boundary wall. The District Collector has given administrative sanction for the projects.

Laboratory complex

The networking between research institutions and teaching centres will be beneficial to the education sector, the Education Minister, E. T.Mohammed Basheer, has said. He was speaking at the inauguration of the laboratory complex of the Centre for Earth Science Studies (CESS) here on Wednesday. Coaching classes

The Thiruvananthapuram Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India will commence oral coaching classes for its Foundation and Intermediate Examinations from April 6. Students who have passed or are awaiting the results of pre-degree or equivalent examinations are eligible for the Foundation course. Graduates or those who have passed the Foundation course will be eligible for the Intermediate course. Seminar on literature

The Dr. K. M. George Memorial Language Study and Research Centre, functioning under the Department of Culture, will organise a two-day national seminar on Comparative Literature: New Perspectives on April 7 and 8. Postgraduate students and researchers are welcome to join the seminar. Registration is free.
