Cheating case against couple

A couple operating chit fund businesses allegedly duped several financiers and locals to the tune of Rs. 50 lakhs in Malkajgiri police station area. Residents of Dayanandnagar, Vijaya Laxmi and her husband, Kishore Kumar, collected Rs. 13 lakhs from some financiers by issuing post-dated cheques. They raised Rs. 37 lakhs towards collection of chit instalments from locals. The couple was not to be seen for the past two days. A cheating case was booked following a complaint from one of the clients.

Jewellery taken away

Thieves broke into a house at Hakeempet NSS Colony and took away gold ornaments weighing 22 tolas. The house owner, Nafeeza Fatima, along with her children went to a relative's house in Falaknuma on Monday. She returned home on Tuesday evening and found the lock of the house broken and the jewellery stolen from the almirah, the Banjara Hills police said.

Woman's chain snatched

Two car-borne youngsters snatched away a gold chain weighing six tolas from a woman when she came out for a walk near K.B.R. Park in Banjara Hills on Wednesday morning. The victim, Saraswathi, was walking on the road when the snatchers came from behind, pulled her chain and sped away in the four-wheeler, the local police said.

Woman's body found

A decomposed body of an unidentified woman, aged about 40 years, was found at the engineering shed at Secunderabad railway station platform no. 10 on Tuesday. Condition of the victim's body suggested that she died of electrocution. However, cause of the death was yet to be ascertained, the Gopalapuram police said.
