Semifinalists spotted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 31. Brothers Binu Mani and Binoj Mani entered the men's singles semifinal in the TCTDS Open tennis tournament at the TTC courts here on Thursday. Binu Mani defeated S.L. Arun 6-1, 6-1 while Binoj overame A. Vijayakumar 6-4, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.

Also enterning the men's semifinals were Cecil George and Vijaykumar. Cecil thrashed Sharath Lal 6-0, 6-0 while Vijayakumar beat Vijikumar 6-2, 6-2.

The results (quarterfinals): Men: A. Vijayakumar bt Vijikumar 6-4, 6-2; Cecil George bt Sharath Lal 6-0, 6-0; Binu Mani bt S.L. Arun 6-1, 6-1; Binoj Mani bt A.Vijayakumar 6-6, 6-4.

Boys (under-18): S.L. Arun bt Rajendran 6-3, 6-0; Sharath Lal bt Advaith 6-1, 6-4; G.L.Vivek bt G. Chandu 7-6, 6-4; Abhilash bt V. Visakh 6-4, 6-4.

Under-16: Shyam Babu bt Advaith 9-5; G.L. Vivek bt Mihir Pillai 9-2.

Under-14: Suraj bt Sajin 9-2; Anand George bt Rohit Vijayan 9-0.

Girls: Under-16: Parvathy Vijayan bt Parul Sanjai 9-0; Shivani bt Ann Leela 9-4.
