TIRUPUR, MARCH 31. Lectra, the pioneering solution provider of France to the apparel industry, has come forward to donate Rs. 4.50 crore worth software to the Tirupur NIFT TEA Fashion Technology Institute. According to G. Karthikeyan, Chairman of the Institute, representatives from Lectra, who visited the institute recently, are impressed about the infrastructure facilities and courseware available at the institute and they have come forward to donate apparel CAD software worth of Rs. 4.50 crores to NIFT TEA CAD studio. The computer aided design education should be geared to satisfy the customers in the quality of fashion designing, enable bridging the gap between buyer expectation and manufacturer and take the responsibility for pattern and cutting solution. The NIFT TEA-LECTRA apparel CAD centre will be inaugurated on April 2. The institute is an exclusive one for knitwear design and fashion technology promoted by Tirupur Exporters Association with initial grant from the Union Ministry of Industry.
