CII hails Cabinet decision

COIMBATORE: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Coimbatore Zone, has welcomed the Union Cabinet's decision to amend the Factories Act 1948 that will allow women to work in late night shifts. The Chairperson of the CII, Coimbatore Zone, Nandini Rangaswamy, said "It is a much-awaited decision." She hoped that the bill in this regard would be passed at the earliest. The CII expected this move to benefit sectors such as information technology, retail, garment, special economic zone and the manufacturing industries, she added.
