THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 31. The CPI Legislature Party leader, K.P. Rajendran, has asked the Government to immediately disclose details regarding the utilisation of funds received from the Centre and the public for the relief and rehabilitation of tsunami victims. Mr. Rajendran told a news conference here that there was gross misutilisation of the funds. There were irregularities in construction of houses, repair of damaged houses, selection of beneficiaries and provision of assistance. The entire process lacked transparency and there were serious allegations that the Government had diverted funds for other purposes.
