Disappointment for I-T assessees

VIJAYAWADA, MARCH 31. Several income tax assessees who did not have Permanent Account Numbers (PAN) and TDS Account Numbers (TAN) could not remit amounts in banks on the last day of the financial year.

Though the rush at the banks and in the Income Tax office near Swaraj Maidan was moderate the assessees without proper PAN and TAN numbers went away disappointed because the computers would not accept a payment without their account numbers.
