One-dayers' live telecast on giant screen

By Our Special Correspondent

VISAKHAPATNAM, MARCH 31. The one-day international (ODI) matches between India and Pakistan to be held on April 2 and 5 at Kochi and in the city respectively will be telecast live on giant screens using latest technology by Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) at Gurazada Kalakshetram and VUDA Children's Theatre.

While only children would be admitted at the Children's Theatre, the open-air theatre of Gurazada Kalakshetram is open to all, and entry is free of cost, according to the VUDA Chairman, P.S.N. Raju.

All the arrangements were being made by MIC Electronics, which was bringing the light emission diode (LED) technology for the first time to the city for the purpose.

VUDA is making the arrangements to facilitate all those cricket lovers who could not get a ticket or unable to buy tickets for the ODI in the city.

Mr. Raju and the VUDA Vice-Chairman, D. Varaprasad, had taken this initiative to extend the entertainment facility to cricket fans, a spokesman of VUDA said.

LED technology

MIC Electronics, pioneering LED technology services, is assigned the job of installing the big screens--17 ft by 13 ft at Gurazada Kalakshetram, and 12 ft by 9 ft at the Children's Theatre for the benefit of Vizagites to enjoy the cricket matches.

LED technology enables the live telecast near to reality and viewers can feel the show as if they are watching the match at the actual venue.

The spokesman said that the live show at VUDA Children's Theatre was arranged for the benefit of the members of the VUDA Children Club and the entry is restricted to members. However, those who have not enrolled as members of the club could do so to enjoy the show as well as year-long programmes organised for the members. They may contact the Children's Theatre either directly or over the telephone No: 2525783, he said.
