CUDDAPAH, MARCH 31. The police arrested six members of a highway robber gang at Guravareddi Kottalu on Muddanur-Jammalamadugu ghat road in the wee hours of Thursday. Mallaiah, Subbaiah and four more members of the gang, accused in several cases of waylaying and robbing people, were apprehended, the Jammalamadugu DSP, K.N. Bhaskaran, told newsmen at Muddanur. Rs. 1,500, a gold ring, two watches, two torchlights, knives, sticks and horseshoe nails were recovered from them. Special police parties were constituted to check the spate of highway robberies, he said.
