HYDERABAD, MARCH 31. The Social Welfare Minister, D. Redya Naik, has said that all the people belonging to the Benthu Oriya community would be issued Scheduled Tribes caste certificate based on the 1951 voters list. In a reply to a short notice question by the Congress member, Naresh Kumar Agarwal, in the Assembly on Thursday, Mr. Redya Naik said that instructions would be issued to the district Collector of Srikakulam to issue certificates to all eligible Benthu Oriya people in the Ichapuram and Sompeta constituencies.
Teachers' suspension
The School Education Minister told the TRS member, M. Satyanarayana Reddy, that orders had been issued on Wednesday to reinstate a school teacher, S. Indira, who was suspended following an ACB case. The TRS member had protested that the suspended teacher had not been receiving the subsistence allowance for the last eight years despite the fact that the court had dismissed the case against her. She said that three teachers were placed under suspension on the charge of corrupt practices and the courts had acquitted them. She said the issue of reinstatement of the suspended teachers was under consideration of the Government in consultation with the AP Vigilance Commission.
