THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 31. The City Police have announced traffic restrictions in the capital on Friday in view of the Secretariat siege announced by the Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi to protest against the implementation of the Value Added Tax system from April 1. The vehicles, including KSRTC buses, proceeding from East Fort to Medical College, Kesavadasapuram and Uloor areas should proceed via West Fort, Eenchakkal, Chakka and Pettah, a release quoting the Assistant Commissioner of Traffic said. The vehicles proceeding from East Fort to Peroorkada and Sasthamangalam side should proceed via Overbridge, Thampanoor, Thycaud and Vazhuthacaud. The vehicles coming from Sreekariyam and Kesavadasapuram side and proceeding to East Fort and Thampanoor should proceed via Museum, Vellayambalam, Vazhuthacaud, Xanadu and Panavila stretch to Thampanoor. The vehicles bringing the agitationists from Attingal, Kilimanoor and Nedumangad side should park the vehicles at Kazhakuttom after dropping them in the capital. The vehicles bringing the agitationists from Neyyattinkara and Kovalam areas should drop them in the city and park the vehicles on the Killipalam bund road. The vehicles bringing the agitationists will be allowed to enter the city only after 2 p.m. to take them back.
