Steps to curb fictitious claims urged

VISAKHAPATNAM, MARCH 31. The need to take steps to curb fictitious cases of compensation claims on Railway finances from incidents like self-inflicted injury, suicide, etc., was emphasised by speakers at a seminar conducted here on Wednesday by the Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway.

The seminar was attended by representatives from the Railway Protection Force and the Government Railway Police, ticket checking staff and commercial staff of the division.

The Deputy Chief Commercial Manager (claims) of ECoR, S.S. Mishra, who was the chief guest, said that proper measures should be taken to record such incidents, with the cooperation of the frontline staff like drivers, guards, conductors and stations master.
