HYDERABAD, MARCH 31. The State Government sanctioned 20,782 LPG connections under the Deepam scheme in Hyderabad during the year 2004-05, the Chief Rationing Officer (CRO), Vani Prasad, informed on Thursday. Addressing a press conference, Ms. Prasad said authorities had booked 22 cases against Fair Price (FP) shops on the charge of committing irregularities. Fourteen licences were suspended while one was cancelled. She said task force teams of the Civil Supplies Department were regularly checking petrol stations and sale of loose edible oil. In the last two months, the teams seized loose edible oil worth Rs. 4.21 lakhs. She said any information regarding diversion or under weighing of LPG cylinders could be passed on over the telephone numbers 27845060, 27846061, 24576261, 27801123 or on 23203030, she added.
