KOCHI, MARCH 31. The police today arrested three persons who purchased electronic items and jewellery worth Rs.1.15 lakhs using a credit card stolen from a parcel kept for delivery by a private courier company in the city. The arrested persons were identified as Unni (19) of Pulikkad Illam, Tripunitura; Kalesh (23) of Kamal Nivas, Alappuzha and Sunil (30) of Tripunitura. The police said that the credit card was stolen from a vehicle used by an employee of the courier company. On March 23, the employee came to a hotel near Vyttila to deliver a parcel. He went inside the hotel after parking his vehicle on the hotel premises. The trio used this time to steal the parcel containing the credit card.Later, they used the card to purchase three mobile phones, a VCD and jewellery worth Rs.65, 000. A team led by the Sub-Inspector, A.J. George, investigated the case.
