Rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, APRIL 1. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema, and Kerala and dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep and Karnataka.

Ketti (Nilgiris dt.) recorded heavy rainfall of 7 centimetres.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Udhagamandalam, Kovilpatti, (Tuticorin dt.) and Omalur (Salem dt.) 3 each, Cumbam (Guntur dt.), Srivilliputhur and Aruppukottai (both Virudhunagar dt.) 2 each and Sattur (Virudhunagar dt.), Sankaridurg (Salem dt.), Natham (Dindigul dt.) and Erode 1 each.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature fell at a few places over south interior Karnataka, at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, rose at one or two places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were markedly above normal at a few places over Tamil Nadu, appreciably above normal at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka, above normal at a few places over rest FORECAST (valid until Sunday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, coastal Karnataka, north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala, mainly dry weather prevail over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, Telangana, Lakshadweep and Karnataka.
