By K. Venugopal
PORT LOUIS, APRIL 1 . He was put up at one of the most beautiful beach resorts on this island; yet the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, confessed he did not get the time to get to the sand or wet his feet in the waters of the Indian Ocean. He said at a press conference at the conclusion of his visit that he had used the recess in the budget session of Parliament to visit Port Louis, and found his meetings with the great Indian diaspora a source of inspiration and rejuvenation. On the few trips he has made overseas so far, the Prime Minister has not been known to indulge himself or relax except perhaps with a book. Asked what books he read on this trip, he said it was a book on Mauritius's first Prime Minister, Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, that the son and Leader of the Opposition, Navin Ramgoolam, had given him.
