PES (Mandya) in semifinals

MYSORE, APRIL 1. Helped by a brace by left-extreme Lallalung Kima (40th & 45th minutes) and a goal each by right-out Nicky (5th min) and centre-forward Lalmilan (15th min), PES (Mandya) registered a 4-0 win over CIT, Ponnampet and entered the semi-finals in the VTU Inter-colleges Mysore Zone football tournament conducted by Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering at University football grounds here on Friday.

The results: Quarterfinals: PES (Mandya) bt CIT, Ponnampet 4-0; Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan bt SJCE, Mysore 1-0.

Pre-quarterfinals: CIT, Ponnampet bt AIT, Chickmaglur 2-1; St. Joseph's (M'lore) bt SJCE (Evening) 1-0; SJCE bt NIE 4-3 (via tie-breaker); PACE, Mangalore bt VVCE 4-0; JNNCE, Shimoga bt BIT, D'gere 5-4 (Via tie-breaker); NMAMIT, Nitte bt VCET, Puttur 7-0.
