PATHANAMTHITTA, APRIL 1. The District Congress Committee (DCC) general secretary, Bijily Panavely, who was also an `I' group strongman in the district, has condemned the reported recommendation of the Congress MLA, M.P. Gangadharan, to the delimitation commission to rename the Ranni Assembly segment as Mallappally. In a statement here today, Mr. Bijily said that Mr. Gangadharan who was the associate member of Congress in the delimitation commission had not consulted the party before making recommendations. He said by making such a recommendation, Mr. Gangadharan wa s trying to help the Kerala Congress (M) out of the way and the Congress could not agree with it. He said that the party would oppose the attempt to dissolve the Assembly segments.
