PATHANAMTHITTA, APRIL 1. The Nair Service Society and the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam leaderships have reiterated their ``resolve to strengthen unity among the Hindus.'' Addressing the annual Hindu religious meet at the Sree Raktakanta Swami Temple at Omalloor, near here this afternoon, the NSS general secretary, P.K. Narayana Panicker, and the SNDP Yogam general secretary, Vellappally Natesan, alleged that certain quarters had been ``trying in vain to torpedo'' the unity efforts by giving ``negative publicity'' to it. However, the recent statements of certain political party leaders indicated that now they have realised the fact that the Nair-Ezhava unity was a reality, Mr. Natesan said. Mr. Natesan alleged that successive Governments had been doing gross injustice to the Devaswom Boards that administer the Hindu temples in the State. He said that though the NSS and the SNDP were not for launching a political party, they have got a definite political aim. Mr. Natesan said that both the organisations had its reservations towards the BJP. Mr. Panicker said that certain quarters appeared to be very much apprehensive that the SNDP-NSS unity would only help the RSS. ``Hindu unity is going to be a reality and, naturally, all like-minded groups will have to join hands in due course to reach the goal,'' Mr. Panicker said. Earlier, talking to reporters, Mr. Natesan said that the second round of NSS-SNDP Yogam high-level talks would be held in early June. He cautioned against the intolerance shown by certain quarters towards the ongoing Nair-Ezhava unity talks. According to him, the unity message and spirit had already reached the lower level of both the communities and there was no room for apprehension or doubts.
