The project, cleared by the Union Environment Ministry, was referred to the Agriculture Ministry. Mr.Ramadass said a cancer care centre was approved for Karaikal and it would be set up at a cost of Rs 3 crores. Centres were approved for 10 hospitals in different States and he persuaded the Health Ministry to include Karaikal.
