PONDICHERRY, APRIL 2. The Joint Action Committee of the daily wage and part time workers association has announced a schedule of agitations in support of their demand that the administration implement the decisions taken by the Government. Office bearers of the committee, G. Madhialagan and K. Gunasekaran, told presspersons here today that the workers would stage a gate meeting at the Directorate of Education on April 5. This, they said, would be followed by a similar meeting at the Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries the next day. The action committee would intensify the agitation by staging a hunger strike in front of the Assembly on April 12. A rally would also be taken out on April 19 to stage a demonstration at the Assembly. The demands of the workers include,a ban on providing private security agency services jobs on Government department premises and an eight-hour work schedule for watchmen.
