Security plan for bus passengers

By Our Staff Reporter

JAMMU, APRIL 2. The Jammu and Kashmir Government has drawn up a security plan for the passengers travelling to Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. Security would be provided to the passengers as a number of terrorist outfits of the State have threatened to physically harm the passengers or even blow up the bus.

Well-placed sources told The Hindu that the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, had called up the Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, yesterday enquiring about the security of the passengers.

The Chief Minister assured the Prime Minister that all steps would be taken to ensure the safety of the passengers and directed the security agencies to take all steps. Some of the passengers have been provided with personal security guards.

Khalid Hussian, who was threatened directly by Al-Nasreen terrorist outfit by a caller from London, was provided a security guard at his house this morning.

All the passengers have been asked to contact the police control room of their district in advance before they leave their native place.
