`Government stance partisan'

By Our Staff Reporter

PATHANAMTHITTA, APRIL 2. The Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary, Vellappally Natesan, has alleged that the Government is showing a partisan attitude in the distribution of relief to tsunami victims in the State.

Addressing a rally organised by the Yogam district unit in Thiruvalla as part of the Guruvarsham celebrations today, Mr. Natesan said that some disparity was there even in the allotment of houses to the victims. The wrong policy of the State Government was responsible for this fluid state of affairs.

Inaugurating the meeting, the Nair Service Society (NSS) general secretary, P.K. Narayana Panicker, said that the NSS-SNDP combine was against the appeasement of any community. The two organisations would see to it that social justice was ensured soon, he said.

Mr. Panicker released the book, `Jathiyude Rashtreeyom', written by Mr. Vellappally by handing over a copy to M.B. Sreekumar, TDB member, on the occasion.

The Yogam vice-president, V. Ponnan, delivered the keynote address.

The Yogam district leaders, P.G. Anandan, Adoor Rajan, Karippakkuzhy Sukumaran, K. Jayakumar and K.R. Sadasivan, spoke.
