KOLLAM, APRIL 2. The Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, will inaugurate `Vikasanolsavam 2005,' the development programme of the Panmana grama panchayat, on Sunday. On the occasion, the Water Resources Minister, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, will inaugurate the 50K Scheme in the panchayat for providing employment to 50,000 persons. The panchayat president, E. Yunus Kunju, said here today that `Vikasanolsavam' aims at providing houses to all families below the poverty line in the panchayat. The other programmes include financial aid to those from the Scheduled communities and construction of office complexes. At the inaugural function, the grama panchayat will make a contribution of Rs.1 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. The managing director of Kerala Minerals and Metals Limited, K.P. Rajendran, will present a computer to the grama panchayat.
