ECoRSU

anniversary

``The East Coast Railway Shramik Union is virtually on a collision course with the Centre on the issue of constituting the sixth pay commission,'' the ECoRSU general secretary, Ch. Gandhi said on Saturday. He was speaking at the second foundation day celebration the union. The ECOrSU additional general secretary and Waltair divisional coordinator, D. Shaleel, presided.

Exemption for shops

The Labour Department has announced exemption of working hours for shops and establishments for the Ugadi festival from Sunday to April 9. The exemption would be subject to conditions such as no employee should work for over 12 hours on a day, that the employees should be paid overtime wages for the period worked over eight hours per day, compensatory holiday for working on weekly-off, etc., according to Deputy Commissioner of Labour, M. Narasimha Varahala Reddy.
