Tiruchi office issues over 20000 passports

TIRUCHI, APRIL 2. The Passport Office, Tiruchi, has received 19,761 applications for fresh, duplicate and renewal of passports, in March 2005.

According to an official release issued here today, the passport office has issued 20, 232 passports in March.

As of March 31, passports were issued for applications submitted up to February 16, 2005.

In respect of reissue of passports and additional booklets for old passports issued by the office have been cleared based on applications received till March 17 and March 10 respectively. Applications submitted up to March 7 have been cleared, in respect of passports for minors. Fresh passports were being issued only on receipt of clear police verification report, the release added.
