GULBARGA, APRIL 3. The Indian Royal Academy of Art and Culture today announced the winners of the second annual awards for artists in different categories. A press release by the president of the academy, Rahman Patel, said that Sachin Dhananjay Naik of Goa, Kuneesha Mirzan from Mumbai, Nitika Sharma from Nagpur, Arun Mascarenhas from Mysore, and Vijayalaxmi Patil of Udupi have bagged the Royal Shield in Graphics, Painting and Sculpture categories. Following is the list of winners of the Royal Gold awards: Pushpanjali Swain (Chhattisgarh), Harish Nelli (Udupi), and Bothe Somnath Ramrao (Pune) for Painting; Vijay Vasant Purekar (Kolhapur) for Sculpture, Jayaprakash J. Jagtap (Pune) and Raveendra V. (Udupi) for Drawing; B. Karuna (Hyderabad) for Graphics; Jayant B. Hubli (Bangalore) for New Medium; Aryapragnaya Basabadutta (Balasore) for Traditional Art; and Vishwanath D. (Udupi) for Photography. The academy has also selected Abhijith S. Dev (Bangalore) for Photography; Lal Yadav (Balasore), Ramgiri P. Police Patil (Gulbarga), Ananthamoorthy (Udupi) and Shinde Pravin Shirmanth (Mumbai) for Painting; Anandbabu M. Amberkhane (Mysore) for Sculpture.
