HYDERABAD, APRIL 3. Eighty-seven students belonging to the Scheduled Caste communities secured admission in the prestigious Hyderabad Public Schools at Begumpet and Ramanthapur this year. This is stated to be good performance, as normally only 30 or 32 students get selected under the reserved category. Many of those admitted in 2005-06 were in the open category, according to officials of the Social Welfare Department. The Government will meet expenditure ranging from Rs.25,000 to Rs.30,000 on each of the 87 selected students so that they complete their school on meritorious note.
