Fun and frolic for Akshara students

VIJAYAWADA, APRIL 3. After a year-long hectic schedule of academic sessions, homework and examinations, the students of Akshara International School had a field day on Sunday.

Marking the school's annual day, the kids, clad in robes of dazzling colours, the students danced in gay abandon to the tunes of popular numbers including `Babuji jara dheere chalo..' and numbers of Backstreet boys.

Girls clad in yellow sarees performed a temple dance sequence of Tamil Nadu. They also proved their mettle in martial arts by giving a karate show.

The Higher Education Minister, Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao, who was the chief guest of the function, lauded the students' performance.

The Minister asked the parents to encourage students' talents. "It is up to you to observe their interests and nurture them," he said. The school chairman, Kakarla Anil Kumar, presented the annual report. The VGTM-UDA chairman, Malladi Vishnu and others were present.
