MYSORE,
APRIL 4.
A 65th minute goal by right-out Naveen helped PES (Mandya) register a 1-0 win over BIT (Bangalore) and enter the semifinals in the VTU inter-zonal inter-collegiate football tournament, conducted by Vidhyavardhaka College of Engineering, at the University grounds here on Monday.
The results (quarterfinals): PES (Mandya) bt BIT (Bangalore) 1-0; MCE (Hassan) bt RVCE (Bangalore) 5-3 (tie-breaker); CMRIT (B'lore) bt KLSGIT (Belgaum) 1-0; BVBCET (Hubli) bt PDACE (Gulbarga) 6-1.
BVBCET (Hubli) bt MSRIT (B'lore) 2-1; CMRIT (B'lore) w/o GNDEC.
