Big guns advance
By Our Special Correspondent
KOLKATA,
APRIL 4.
As the big guns began to boom in the Indian Oil all-India 110th Beighton Cup hockey tournament, the pretenders went out the tournament here on Monday. The day's most fluent win was recorded by Border Security Force (BSF), Jalandhar, against Pioneer Corps Training Centre (PCTC), Bangalore, in a third round match at the CC&FC ground. BSF won 4-1.
Also moving into the pre-quarterfinals were Bombay XI, a confident 3-0 winner over Lucknow United at the Mohammedan Sporting ground while the host CC&FC made its exit losing to ONGC by the odd goal in three.
