This Day That Age
The Pakistan Governor-General has appointed Dr. Khan Saheb as the first Chief Minister of the proposed West Pakistan unit, which is to come into being before the end of May. The appointment of Mr. M.A. Gurmani as the first Governor of the West Pakistan Province was simultaneously announced on April 4. Dr. Khan Saheb, who headed the Congress Ministry in the North-West Frontier Province for years, is now the Communications Minister in the Mohammed Ali Cabinet. Dr. Khan Saheb has the advantage of long administrative experience as Congress Chief Minister of the NWFP and the tribal areas where the Khan Brothers have become legendary figures since the days of freedom struggle.
