Hari Krishna falls to Falgaer

DOS HERMANAS (SPAIN), APRIL 5. An oversight cost P. Hari Krishna a valuable point against Argentina's Ruben Falgaer in their 33-move fourth round encounter of the Dos Hermanas international chess tournament here on Monday.

Playing from the black side of Evans Gambit, Hari overlooked a combination from Falgaer who forced him to either give up a bishop or trade his rook for a knight. Hari opted for the latter but after three moves decided to resign.

In the day's other decisive match, young Teimour Radjabov forced Miguel Illescas to resign in 43 moves of Benoni Defence.

Sergey Karjakin continued to lead with three points after a 42-move draw with Alexander Rustemov.

The results (fourth round): Sergey Karjakin (Ukr) (3) drew with Alexander Rustemov (Rus) (2); Ruben Falgaer (Arg) (2.5) bt P. Hari Krishna (1.5); Alexey Dreev (Rus) (2) drew with Oleg Korneev (Rus) (2); Miguel Illescas (Esp) (1.5) lost to Teimour Radjabov (Aze) (2.5); Lenier Dominguez (Cub) (1) drew with Zurab Azmaiparashvili (Geo) (2).
