Manmohan to inaugurate Jammu-Udhampur rail link

NEW DELHI, APRIL 5. The Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, will inaugurate the 53-km broad gauge Jammu-Udhampur rail link on April 13.

He will also flag off the Uttar Sampark Kranti Express, whose run from here to Jammu has been extended to Udhampur.

According to official sources, the rail line, laid at a cost of Rs. 515 crores, would connect Jammu to the northern part of the State.

Of the total length of 53.6 km, there are 10.28 km of tunnels and 5.16 km of bridges.
