Lalu to inaugurate World Executive Council

NEW DELHI,
APRIL 5.
The Railway Minister, Lalu Prasad, will inaugurate a two-day meeting of the World Executive Council (WEC) beginning in Bangalore on April 28.
According to the Railway Ministry officials, the WEC meeting would take place on April 28 and the World Forum would meet on April 29.
The role of the WEC is to define International Union of Railways (UIC) policy at the world level and promote action enabling this policy to be implemented within the context of the UIC's general objectives. The council decides on setting up working parties to deal with matters related to UIC world policy .
