PONDICHERRY, APRIL 5. The Union Territory of Pondicherry has been experiencing heavy rain since morning today. At the Secretariat Assembly staff were busy attending a leak in the ceiling of the Press gallery and flooring was mopped. Mediapersons covering the proceedings had to move to the visitors' gallery. It was only recently that the Assembly hall was elegantly done up for President, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam's visit on November 1, who addressed a special session on the occasion of the golden jubilee of Pondicherry freedom (de facto merger).
