BANGALORE, APRIL 5. If the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President, B. Janardhana Poojary, thought he had the last word when he called S. Bangarappa a "monkey", who jumped from party to party, today the former Chief Minister's turned the tables on him. At the meet-the-press programme organised by the Press Club of Bangalore, Mr. Bangarappa who seemed to be waiting for a journalist to ask the question, said with great relish, "I will tell you something if you promise to print it from A to Z". "Well Mr. Poojary called me a monkey. And here in India, what is a monkey? He is Hanumantha, Veeranjaneya, Maruti, who found Sita, destroyed Lanka, and now is a much-worshipped god. Well a god needs a poojary to idolate and adore and worship, and who else but our very own Janardhana Poojary?" he said joining in the laughter that followed. When a journalist pointed out that after all we should not forget our roots, and Darwin's theory, he heartily agreed and said, "yes after all the monkey is our ancestor".
