Woman delivers baby in RTC bus

APRIL 5.
A pregnant woman on way to hospital delivered a male child in an APSRTC bus, with the help of women passengers, when the driver stopped the bus on the roadside near Sankhavaram in Kalasapadu mandal on Tuesday.
The woman, Jambarapu Muthamma, boarded the bus at Ankelapalle near Uyyalawada to get admitted to a hospital at Porumamilla for delivery. When the bus reached Sankhavaram, she developed pains. The bus driver, Chennaiah, and the conductor, Nageswara Rao, stopped the bus and women passengers helped Muthamma deliver a healthy male child.
Later the RTC crew took the mother and the infant by the same bus to the Government hospital at Porumamilla, where they got admitted. Muthamma and other passengers expressed gratitude to the RTC crew.
