A book on health problems

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, APRIL 5.APRIL 5.APRI A book titled "Sawal Apke, Jawab Doctor Ke" was presented to the Vice-President, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, in the Capital on Monday. Written by M.P. Shrivastava, a well-known doctor, and Sanjay Shrivastava, the book provides answers to questions on various problems relating to heart, lungs and mind. The main purpose behind bringing out the book was to clear misconceptions and apprehensions about various ailments. The book has been published by Prabhat Prakashan.

Educationist remembered

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, APRIL 5.APRIL 5.APRI A prayer meeting was organised at Sat Kiran Auditorium in CSKM Public School here on Monday for Col. P.S.Satsangi who passed away recently. He was an educationist, philosopher and psychologist.

While the former chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education, T.V. Kunnunkal, described Col. Satsangi as a revolutionary thinker, the general secretary of Parent Teacher Association of India, A.K. Sahni, said his death had left a vacuum in the educational world.

Bank branch opened

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, APRIL 5.APRIL 5.APRI The Joint Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Finance, M. Deena Dayalan, inaugurated the 1, 800th branch of the Syndicate Bank at Dwarka in South-West Delhi on Monday.

Mr. Dayalan, who is also a director on the board of Syndicate Bank, complimented the bank for providing state-of-the-art facilities like e-banking and ATM. He called upon the bankers to extend the best service to customers and meet the challenges posed by foreign and private banks.

Special training for cops

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, APRIL 5.APRIL 5.APRI The Airports Authority of India is imparting training to the Delhi police to familiarise them with its functioning and that of the Customs, the Central Industrial Security Force and the Foreign Regional Registration Office working at the airport.

The objective of the training would be to make the functioning of the multiple agencies at the airport more passenger-friendly. While inaugurating the training programme today, the Indira Gandhi International Airport director, B.K. Arora, said: "Delhi airport has grown tremendously and the expectations of the visitors have also gone up. We have to make the efforts together to coordinate with the all the agencies at the airport effectively."

The four-day programme would impart training to 25 police personnel every day. Appreciating the initiatives of the Airports Authority of India, the Airport Deputy Commissioner of Police, U.K. Choudhary, expressed the hope that such training programme would help in building good public image of the agencies working at the airport.
